Alerts: the website, your device and Telegram

A research call lives on its page in the members' area, with every update and the time it was published. Alerts are how an update reaches you while you are away from that page. This explains the three channels, what each carries, and what to do when one arrives.

1. The call page is the record

Every call has one page in the members' area. It shows the call as published, with its entry zone, stop-loss, targets, timeframe and validity, and under it every update in order with its time: entry filled, stop trailed, part booked, a target reached, closed, or cancelled. Nothing is edited away; a change is a new line with its own time.

The time printed beside each line is when it was published. That is the time a call's result is measured from, and the time to compare your own fill or exit against.

2. Three ways an update reaches you

  • In the members' area: the bell shows the updates since your last visit, and the Timeline lists every update to every call, with a date to jump to.
  • The members' Telegram channel: each published call and each update to it is posted as an alert with the same levels and the same wording as the page. The channel is one way; replies are not read there.
  • Alerts on your device: where the website offers them and you turn them on, your browser shows the same alert as a notification on your phone or computer. They are optional, and they are turned off in the same place.

Email digests are not offered at present. Nothing is sent to private chats, and no one from Investology messages you one to one about a call.

3. The same update, in the same words

An alert is a copy of a line that already exists on the call page. It never carries a level, a target or a reason that the page does not. A published call and its updates go to the website and to the channels at the same time, so no member sees a change before another.

How long an alert then takes to reach you depends on the channel, your device and your network, not on the call: Telegram's servers, your phone's notification settings and whether the app may run in the background all play a part. The time on the call page does not change with delivery.

If an alert and the page ever look different, the page is the complete and current record and the alert is one line of it, possibly read later than it was sent. Open the call page before acting.

4. What an alert asks of you

  • A new call: read the whole call, decide whether it fits your plan and your capital, and size it. An alert is not an instruction to trade.
  • Entry filled, or a stop trailed: nothing changes for a member who did not take the call. For one who did, compare the new stop with your own order.
  • A target reached, or a call closed: the call's result is measured from its own fill and exit; yours follows your own prices and quantity.
  • Cancelled: the call was never entered. An order you placed against it is yours to cancel with your broker.

5. Keeping alerts useful

  • On Telegram, keep the channel unmuted during market hours if you act on intraday calls. A muted channel still holds every alert for later.
  • Device alerts follow your browser's notification permission. If they stop, check the permission before assuming nothing was published.
  • Alerts about a call you did not take need no action. The Timeline is there when you want the whole picture.
  • Anyone who messages you privately in Investology's name, asks for a payment outside the website or asks for your trading login is not Investology.
